Oil Pressure Indicator
How long should the oil pressure indicator on the dash stay lit up after starting the car? Mine is taking just under a second to turn off. I just changed the oil in my S and it seems to stay on a bit longer than before. I may just be imagining things though.
I have checked the dipstick a couple of times. It shows 1X to 1.5X's from the top.
FYI - I put in Mobil 1 10W-30 and a K&N oil filter.

Immediately following an oil change, the low pressure warning lamp will stay on longer than normal. That's because you've drained the oil out of the filter and all the galleries so it takes a little longer for the pressure to build up. After that, the time the light stays on should return to normal.

The oil filter could have a bad anti-drainback valve in it if the long oil pressure light thing continues. I've seen it a few times now with cheap filters where the valve never seats properly. Super common in the cheap fram and oem'd-by-fram filters.

So should the oil pressure indicator turn off right after I start the engine?
Should I replace my oil filter?

When I start my S2000 in the morning (any morning) the oil pressure warning light goes off at the same time as the engine fires.
Yes, I'm using a 0W-30, 9.6cSt, PAO/Ester oil.

I think i'm going to go to a 0w-30 like spitfire.. My oil light sometimes takes up to 2 to 3 seconds to turn off meanwhile the valves sound diesel for a moment. That's with the car warmed up too. I think it might be the 100+ degrees in Miami but i dunno.. Which oil filter is a (PCX 004). Is that the s2k oil filter or the civic/accord filter?
