Default Oil Pan Liquid Gasket (Hondabond) Part Number?

I did a search and could not find it.

I bought a tube of Hondabond HT hi-temp silicone liquid gasket, part number 08718-0001. Is this the right stuff to use when reinstalling the oil pan?

Thanks.

Don't know what color the bond is 'cause the tube is sealed. I don't think I can return it if it's the wrong part and opened. The tube itself is black (is that what you meant?) and cost me $18 with tax...

I used Honda Ultra flange II. It's the same stuff the factory used, and grey in color. Don't have the Part # handy. The ultra flange is pretty much identical to Permatex Grey high temp silicone. The Hondabond HT is a runny liquid silicone sealer. It's pretty messy to deal with, but dries hard. Ultra flange, Hondabond HT, Permatex ultra copper, and grey high temp will all work.

Now that you mentioned it, I think I'm gonna return Hondabond and get the Ultra Flange II. I always wonder how you can apply the gooey stuff without it running into the oil pan on the inside.

Yes, the Ultra Flange II (part #08718-0009) is the stuff you want -- IF you want to stick with Honda goop only. However, any hi-temp RTV sealant will do. As I recall, the Honda stuff is like 15 bucks, while you can get equivalent goop at Pep Boys/Autozone for 3 or 4.

The grey silicones (any mfr) are specially designed to adhere to cars with aluminum components - Honda bond or its Permatex equivalents are fine.
