Hello i just noticed that recently the oil light stays on a little bit longer than it used to when i start the car. the oil light usually goes off right away when starting the car, but for some reason, the car oil light stays on a second or two then goes off after starting. i checked oil level and everything and its not burning oil. compression in all cylinders read 220+. what causes the light to stay on a little longer? i been using mobil 1 10w30 and oem honda filter since day 1. 59k miles on car. Thanks!

As long as it never ever comes on after that - while the engine is running - there is no problem at all.
You're using the 15400-PCX-004 filter?
Maybe the anti drain back valve in the filter is not 100%
Unlikely on a 15400-PCX-004 though.

to verify whether it's the oil pump or oil switch you need to check oil pressure. when i was working at a local Dodge dealership, Durangos and Dakotas V6 to V8's had problems with the oil sending unit. to verify that it's not the oil pump, i ran a pressure gauge from the sending unit. as soon as i seen oil pressure on start up, i knew that the sending unit was the culprit. of course i checked the oil level and condition before diagnosis
