Oil light staying on longer

Could you specify engine temperature during those situations?
When cold your 5W-30 will flow faster => less light (in theory) = good (IMO)
When hot your 5W-30 may be a tiny little bit thinner then a 10W-30.
Allthough it depends on oil brand how much thinner, it may actually be thicker.
IMO in a warm healty engine that should not be a problem.
It seems since my last oil change where i went from mobil1 10w-30 syn to Valvoline maxlife 5w-30 syn my oil light stays on like half a second longer on startup.
I'd say normally you start the car and the oillight is off withing a half second. Mine stays on at least a half. Sometimes it flickers withing that half second - once.
