hmmm.... also just found these guys while surfing around. they quoted me $3,500 for a complete refurbished engine. comes with a three year warranty assuming it's installed correctly. anyone ever heard of them?

Did you contact them about that specific engine? It says most engines and that some warranties are better than others.

Personally I'd rather buy a low mileage stock motor than a refurbished one.

Personally, I wouldnt touch a used engine. There are just too many things that could be lurking and if it goes bad later the seller will always tell you it was an as is scenario and whatever else to cover their asses. NIB shortblocks from honda are 3-4k and totally worth the piece of mind that comes with it.

Kinda like buying a used S2000 that doesn't show any oil on the dipstick or one that makes a funny noise. You don't have it checked out but you buy it anyway. Your worst nightmare .................. AGAIN!
