I couldn't find Loctite ultragrey at Pepboys but they had a different brand.
Is this the same thing ??
I will eventually change the oil pan.
Just looking for a short term solution right now.

oh yeah that is it, for some reason I thought it was loctite, or loctite is the same company as permatex, but yeah that is the product, it works very well.

It is Loctite, Pepboys just carry a different brand.
Only reason why I thought it maybe the same product because of "ultra grey"
Will be trying it tommorow and let you guys know the results.

cool, let us know how it goes. If the crack is held within the length of the drain bolt threads then you should be safe with this repair, if the crack goes beyond the length of the threads then you'll have to look at an alternative approach as you can't get any sealant into that part of the oil pan. good luck !

Well, I applied the ultra grey this afternoon and waited till now to add in the oil.
I noticed the more torgue I apllied to the bolt, the crack got bigger so I didn't tighten the bolt too much.
I let the car running for 10mins and so far no oil drip.
Thanks to all the help.

And yes, I've said it over and over that I will get the pan replaced, short term solution right now.

After a couple of days driving, looks like its leaking a little bit.
Really little but looks like I have to change out the oil pan.

I agree.. its not too hard of a job, I just did mine for the first time.
Day 1: drain oil, drop pan & windage tray.. let sit overnight to drain more oil
Day 2: clean everything and install new pan.. let RTV cure
Day 3: drive

Replace the pan. Make sure you follow the bolt removal and retorque sequence in a good shop manual.

All these temporary silicone fixes probably aren't the greatest idea. The continual cost of buying more oil to fill in could add up to the cost of buying a different pan.

IIRC, the bolts to put the pan on the block call for like 12lbs of torque...so...
