Oil Leak Under Timing Chain Tensioner?
Hey all,
I've noticed a rather small oil leak right underneath the auto timing chain tensioner. Over time the oil leak has been large enough to produce drops under the car. I thought that by cleaning the contact surfaces and retightening the bolts to spec the oil leak would go away, but apparently after feeling underneath the timing chain tensioner the oil leak is still there. Any suggestions or helpful insights on how I may stop the oil leak would greatly be appreciated.
TIA,
Tony

O-rings were still intacted but I did noticed that they were on loose enough to rotate freely, could that be the cause for the oil to leak or are there anything else I should be looking for?

The oil leak could also be coming from the vtec solenoid and I was thinking whether I should undo both and seal them with a gasket maker or would that cause the contact surfaces to be uneven causing a potential oil leak?

Any solutions to this problem.. I have the same issue. I replaced the VTEC solenoid gasket ( multiple-window o-ring with screen) and the TCT o-rings with factory Honda parts ( from the dealer). Still leaked.
Removed TCT & used a small amount of Permatex Silicone & torqued it back down to spec. Still leaks.
Replaced PCV valve (to eliminate any block pressure issues) and washed the engine (it's spotless now). Still leaks. With a clean engine I verified the oil is leaking from the TCT only.
Oil will collect at the bottom seam of the TCT & the block. The oil will drip off the right TCT bolt and run down to the oil drain bolt. Everything above the TCT is dry & clean.
Thoughts or suggestions? I am banging my head on the wall with this one.
