oil leak - skunk2 magnetic drain bolt
#11
the oem bolt looks good, I don't see any cracks in the pan under the bolt, so hopefully you are safe that way. That is very odd that the skunk bolt leaks, technically if the threads are cut properly it shouldn't leak with either washer. Perhaps the threads on the skunk bolt aren't cut properly allowing excessive oil to squeeze by the threads in the pan. That sucks as you pay for a premium part and my no-name generic oil pan magnetic drain bolt doesn't leak.

I had this same exact problem. I used the skunk2 drain plug and the aluminum washer...it leaked a bit overnight. I gave it another 8th of a turn past the 29 lbft and it hasn't leaked since. But I'm thinking it came with the copper washer, and it is quite a bit thinner and a smaller diameter than the stock aluminum one, so I'm going to use that washer next oil change. Same thing happened with the skunk2 mag trans plug.

update: no oil leak since plug swap.
With all this talk of cracked oil pans, I'm paranoid now. I'm not sure I could bring my arm to tighten past the spec.
