Oil Jet Bolt and vin#
Hey guys,
So I was at my dealer the other day picking up some filters and some other stuff for the S and this other guy was at the parts counter picking up some oil jet bolts. He asked me what year my S was and I told him it was a 2002. He kinda laughed cause he had a 2003 and was aparantly changing his bolts on his 2003.
Now the reason why I am posting this is cause from what I know about the topic something along the lines of S2000's made from summer 2002 onwards have this new oil jet bolt design correct? Why would this guy be replacing his so called "new design" with just another set of new bolts? He mentioned that my car "better have them or else"
I am not really worried or anything but I looked at the build date of my S2000 and it said July 2002. That puts me smack in the middle. Do you guys think that in July the new design was already being built? or was Honda still going with the old 2 hole design?
Just wondering if anybody could shed a little bit of light on the topic!!
Also I was doing some research on the way Honda does VIN # and I was wondering the serial numbers mean? My last 6 digits are as follows 009009
Does that mean that my S is the 9009 unit made since the car came out in MY2000? Or was it the 9009 unit made in model year 2002?
Jus a clairificaition if possible.
Thanks a bunch in advance!!!
Evan

you don't need them, cars are past 200k miles without them, he sounds like a tool anyways. do a search and decide wether or not you want to do this, I did it in mine but you don't HAVE to. It is not necesary unless you are doing certain things with your car.
