When you're in the middle of doing your first S2k oil change on a Sunday afternoon and you discover that the dealer sold you a tiny Civic filter instead of the proper S2000 filter and the dealer parts dept is closed, that is a good time to experiment.

I used a Pureone filter and it appears to be well made. I remember comparing it to the Mobil1 filter and the M1 looked cheaper. FWIW.

I wouldn't have left without the right filter, I wouldve held off on the oil change, but I suppose if you had already drained the oil you'd be pretty s.o.l.

I had already drained the oil. It was my first oil change on the car and I had checked the oil filter thread to confirm that all the current Honda S2k filters are ok, but didn't have the numbers with me when I stopped at the dealer. I knew I had the wrong one when I pulled the existing filter and it was much bigger than the one I got from the dealer. Yeah, I should have checked before draining the oil.

The Pureone I put in is a good filter so it all worked out. The dealer actually did right by me and swapped the wrong filter out for the correct one without a receipt and at no charge.
