Good morning,
Has anyone found a oil filter wrench that will fit on a Mobil 1 M1-104 oil filter? These can sometimes be very difficult to get off. I have yet to find a wrench that will fit on one.

well, worst case scenario, if you cant get it off, i like to take a large screw driver, and stab it into the side of the filter, Oil WILL LEAK out of it, but you then have something to get leverage on... i use the k&n filters, they have the socket attachment on them, and it works pretty well. Sure that was not much help, but hey, it will work if you get that annoyed lol

PhastRSX, I'd use a different filter. The Mobil 1 filters are known to be fairly restrictive. Well made, but restrictive to high volume oil flow.
However, if you are committed to this filter, have you tried an end-cap wrench like one of these?

You attach the "cap" to a 3/8" ratchet.
If you have one and it is too big for your current filter, try putting a rag or paper towel inside the wrench to make up that slight difference.
Do not puncture or mangle the filter until you have tried other methods first. I've seen people make a real mess ... and make for a long afternoon ... by puncturing the filter and ripping it off bit-by-bit with a pair of vice grips.

Do you put a small amount of clean oil on your finger and wipe it around the rubber gasket on the filter that contacts the block when you put it on? It comes off much easier that way I think.
