Oil Filter Wrench for 15400-PXC-306 Filter
#71
Well shoot... Should've gone that route before ordering a $89 wrench. Unfortunately, I can't return the wrench because it was marred left and right today. Beyond annoyed...
Just heard back from LHT that I need to turn the wrench counter clockwise after torqueing the filter to spec to 'unlock' it. To quote them, "What we've found is every filter is slightly different and some more out of round more than other. We've tried the tool on about 50 filters to find this. Once you've tightened it to spec, with the same tool you used (19mm or 3/8") turn it slightly the opposite way and it will unlock and slide off". Wish this was mentioned on their product page or the manual.
Not gonna jack up my car again just to test this, so I guess I'll try it during my next oil change.

I damaged the flutes, which might make it difficult to remove the filter later. So, I changed back to an older 004 filter, which I had the proper Honda tool at the time.
