Change the fluid often, leak will stop.
Thanks, Billman -- what is "often" for you?

Just do it a few times until it stops. Once a week or once a month, it doesn't matter. It should get better.

If the inside of your reservoir is black (like mine was), get the fluid out with a turkey baster type of syringe. Clean out the reservoir with lint free towels and put in new fresh fluid. After a few weeks you will likely find that it has darkened up again, I would swap the fluid out 1-2 more times. Once it stabilizes and remains clean I would do it every 4-6 months, it's cheap maintenance for the little amount of fluid it uses.

Okay, so my fluid leaked out about two weeks ago and I filled it to get it home. Once home I sucked out the blackened fluid and cleaned and refilled until the fluid stayed clean. I thought I was golden.

Today (two weeks later), the pedal got floppy and in 18 miles to work, the fluid is all gone again. FWIW, I drove the car last night and didnt notice anything unusual. I looked under the dash at the floor and don't see any leaks at all.

What's up? Can I just keep refiling (keeping it full this time) and hope the problem goes away or do I definitely need to replace the master?

the leak might be at the slave on the trans if you dont see leaks inside or at the master.

Refilling will keep pressure in the system until whatever seal is leaking fails completely. Then one day you're going to find the car undriveable. In fact, you'll get in the car to crank it one morning, and even with the clutch pedal on the floor, the car will leap forward if left in gear when you press the start button. If the clutch system can't build pressure, you can't disengage the clutch. Start the car with the transmission out of gear if you're going to tempt fate with this.

I'd identify which cylinder is leaking and replace it now. Better to spend the $100 on the right part now rather than pay to have it towed home from somewhere.
