3,000 miles? Nah, I'll stick with the 7,500 that Honda itself recommend for our cars

Last OCI was 14300 miles / 13 months with Amsoil SSO.
Currently @ 8120 miles / 4 months, again with SSO.
No plans to change oil at all.

Every 9k miles approximately or 12 months whichever comes first.

Oil is 0 30 castrol gtx (confirmed from my manual and official honda dealer in London)

Spirited drives are frequent for my 2009 Euro spec S2K

Last oil change 16th of November.

You've got a long way to go...i've covered about the same as you have RedCelica

Forgot to mention this but, I do check my oil level approximately every 2-3 weeks just in case.

If used, I would just change the oil and filter and go with 7.5k mi /12 mo from there.
This is the first thing I always do when I purchase a used car.
I'll swap out all the fluids just so I have a good baseline to start with. Plus, you don't know what kind of oil the dealership used for the change. Think of it as cheap insurance.

I personally just started using AMSOIL ATM 10w-30. Looks and smells like oil.

I've been changing mine once a year with synthetic, typically at 6-7k miles. 7 years of heavy autocross and the car still runs like new.

The one good thing about the old 3,000 mile interval was it would get you under the hood. I bet some guys (probably not S2K guys) open their hood once a year, if that, with the longer service intervals.

I like to check fluid levels and nose around the engine bay once a week.

I check the oil and fluids when I get gas. By the time I'm done, the tank is full, but practically no one does this anymore. You'd think that if you had ten minutes to wait around while your SUV fills up, you'd at least go check the oil instead of just stand there...
