Thanks for the post slip, but im sure many s2ki members dont use amosil or redline and dont exp any issues with oil consumption. In researching a bit through older post, do you think it might be an issue related with cylinder 4 banjo bolt problems the older 00-01 s2k experienced. I read in some post that users with this issue did exp excessive oil loss before the problem got worse. Will a leak down test determine this issue?
That would tell you if your car's leakdown parameters are within Honda specs and may indicate if you have excessive leakage past your oil control and compression rings, but would tell you nothing about the oil banjo bolts. The older bolts were installed on 00-mid 02 cars.

im concerned about this issue too, i seem to be going through what will be the 4th qt. in 4500 miles, i use amsoil. i run my car pretty hard and i live in the mountains, if any of these things have to do with it. im not seeing any leaks or any smoke. car runs great just have to keep adding more oil. i am due for a valve adjustment since im right at 62k.

One thing a lot of folks fail to recognize is the oil consumption rate will go up in the winter months due to the fact the engine takes longer to get to operating temp. Another issue related to temperature change is the fact your oil will naturally read lower when it's colder - especially if your using a synthetic oil (synthetic oils expand and contract more than conventional oils). Filling to the top of the stick when the ambient temp is below 65-70F will result in a slight overfill when the engine oil is up to operating temp and the oil expands fully. Your engine will burn off excess oil. Another thing to realize is that your oil temp will not be up to full operating temp by the time your thermostat reads 3 bars (AP1). This can also result in increased consumption if you are banging off the redline the second your coolant gauge reads 'normal'.
My oil consumption effectively doubles in the winter. It goes from around 0.25 qt per 3000 miles to about 0.5 qt, or slightly more. I noticed more consumption than expected this winter so I recently changed my PVC valve to an aftermarket one, and it brought it more inline with expected consumption.
With that being said, A S2000 burning more than 2-3 quarts per 3000 miles may indicate a problem.

- krank vents: this brought my oil consumption to nearly none, but I sold my krank vents because i didn't like the vacuum it created and the popping noise of my seals.
currently, i use a supra pcv valve and i run a breather filter. the results were not immediate, but over a period of about 1 or 2 months, consumption decreased and now it is less than half of what it used to consume. I also found slight improvement using 5w40.
i use amsoil as well.
