Oil Consumption after switch to synthetics?
I just recently switched to Amsoil synthetic oil after 10, 000kms. So far, no oil consumption after a good dose of visiting vtec land. For all that have switch to synthetic, have you noticed a decrease in oil consumption?

I noticed an increase in consumption AND a decrease in gas mileage. I too switched to Amsoil, but 10w-40. So that may have been a factor.
During the time I had the synthetic in, my car would consume about 1 quart every 2 weeks.
After I made the switch back to conventional oil, I have not burned a drop of oil for the 2 weeks it's been in. The gas mileage also got better. I averaged about 22mpg after the change to synthetic. I now average 24-25mpg after the switch back to conventional.. Doesn't make sense to me, but those are the results on my S2k.

My oil consumption is about the same, which is nothing to speak of. However, my gas consumption went down after I switched to the new Mobil1 SuperSyn 10W30. My mileage went from 20.5 to 24.5 after I switched to synthetic oil. So now, I find that the increased mileage is more than paying for the synthetic oil.
