oil consumption

I have almost 1700 miles on my s2k and have not yet burned a drop. Thinking about redline or amsoil 5 w 30

Your are correct. The break in oil seems to be very very thin in addition to the additives in it to help with the break in process. However, if you change your oil to early, one would question if it got broken in well enough...

I, too, noticed an almost binary switchover from burning just a little around the 4500-5500 mile range. I changed at 5500, then the oil burning virtually stopped.
