Default Still leaking

Well, I’m a little pissed that after all this I still have a leak. I’m going to under it on a lift with it running to see if I can spot the leak.

I may take it to my mechanic to see what he says.

Did you notice any scars or tweaks in the castings that you placed the O-rings onto? Mating surfaces may need a slight sanding on a flat surface.

No, I didn't. But, a boogered-up surface may still leak, even with a new O-ring or gasket.

The S is getting put on the back burner this week. My Son's Ram 1500 needs a new water pump and a coolant flush. Apparently mixing coolants makes a brown sludge that looks a lot like emulsified oil. Thought we had a blown head gasket but not the case.

Advise your son to RTFM.

not his fault, he recently inherited that truck from and G’pa. But he will likely get gifted a Hanes repair manual from me as we fix his truck this Saturday

I just had the car on the lift. It is definitely leaking from the vtec (didn’t need the lift to see that). In fact it was hard to see from under the car because the filter is in the way.

I don’t get it. I replaced every seal on the vtec. Do I just need to go ham with some RVT to get that thing to seal up?

who all has had this problem and what did you do to fix?

Don't do sealant. It'll get into oil, clog passages, worse problems.

I would not use sealant if I could avoid it. It is designed to work without any. Did you do both of the gaskets in the VTEC solenoid (the kraken set) ? Can you get a good pic of exactly where it is coming out of the solenoid? Is it between the block and the solenoid or somewhere else on it? Try removing it and making sure none of the new gasket got damaged during install (pinched, torn, etc). Also check very carefully for any gouges in the sealing surface to see if something was damaged there. This normally is a super easy fix. Replace gaskets, leak stops.
