Default Oil consumption

I know this has prolly been discussed, but what did Honda engineers specifically to do help reduce the oil consumption between the AP1 and AP2 engine?

Thanks!

Thanks!
primarily they started using a plate bolted on the top of the block prior to boring the cylinder holes, this better simulates a head being installed on the engine and you get more accurate bores. Secondly an 8,000 rpm vs. 8900 rpm redline must make a bit of difference as well. Thirdly, they improved the pcv system in the valvecover.
