Change the oil if the car will sit for awhile (til Spring?). After 3600 miles, there are plenty of contaminants in the oil that will settle out of suspension and go to your oil pan and other parts of the engine that the oil doesn't drain completely. I see lots of evidence of this happening in my containers that I catch used oil in. After emptying them at recycling centers, there is always a bunch of black, gooey sludge stuck to the bottom of the containers. You will not hurt anything by changing the OEM fill at 3600 miles. It's been in there long enough.

I bought my 06 new in aug of 2006, and had the first oil change at around 3600 miles in july of 2007.

Just wait until you drive 5k miles then change it out.

That oil won't do anything to your vehicle..... it will not harm it.

Just change your oil when it hits 5k. Then start using fully syn oil from now on. Don't use factory blend.
