Default Oil change opinions.....

Whats up guys...

I changed my oil last April after the dragon...new oil (Mobil1) and new filter (Amsoil EAO). Since then, I drove my car maybe 3 times for a total of MAYBE 150 miles, and for the last 3-4 months, it's been parked in my garage. I will drive it again sometime in March, or maybe even when I go to the Dragon this year....I wanted to change my oil before I start her up...should I change the filter too?

Do it... It probably doesn't even really matter but if I'm changing oil, I'm changing filter.

You should be fine. Oil doesn't go bad that quickly. Go atleast 3-4 thousand miles b4 changing the oil and the filter.

I think many filters are tossed that still have 95% remaining clean surface area.

I say remove it, drain it, use it.

At 150 miles, you've barely gotten the filter wet.

Some manufactures, such as Audi, say keep the same filter for two oil changes. While I wouldn't do that with ours given how tiny it really is, you will be fine.

I guess I will just do what Billman said...I will take it off, drain out the oil, and reinstall it. Honestly, it's not that I'm cheap or anything, but it's a $20 filter, and I don't want to junk it for a mere 150 miles of driving.

Me myself I would leave the oil/filter. At that mileage the oil prob isn't acidic. Doesn't the manual say filter every other change?
