I always heard bad things about Mobil 1, not as a company, but in s2000s. Somewhere along the lines of the oil polishing the TCT causing it to make noise. So I stay away from that brand. Anyways, it has been 1000 miles since my last oil change and I burned about 1/4th of a quart. I hit VTEC about once a week and 4 days out of the week I am hitting 85-90mph on the highway, especially if I am late for work. I use to run synthetic oil in my s2000 and noticed that those expensive oils will burn more in an ap1. I switched back to 10w-30 conventional oil and dump the oil every 3000 miles. I run a mobil1 oil filter and change that every 3000 miles as well (which might be excessive). I think synthetic oil is unnecessary... It aint no BMW lol

ive been preaching conventional oil in AP1's for years...I actually run Castrol GTX and it does great...I auto-x and track my car too and I hardly use any oil...maybe 1/4 to a half a quart every 3,000 miles...I run OE filters as well

Mobil 1 disappears quicker then any other oil. Its comprised of additives that burn off rapidly. If you have an S that uses some oil, you can expect it to be half as much by simply switching to a different brand like Castrol/Valvoline in the same weight. Do not run Mobil 1 if you have consumption issues.

Ok will change it out next time around. I just been trying different oils myself. I will try castrol non synthetic next time around. Thanks! My oil burning estimate may have been high I'm keeping a close eye on it. I do drive it into vtec and redline cant help myself
