I do oil changes every 8k miles, at most twice a year. I do diff and transmission once a year, regardless of mileage.

Amsoil has advertises a considerable change interval but you are like me and will drive less than that before wanting to change the oil. Instead of paying Amsoil prices, I get Mobil 1 at Wal Mart for $25 for a 5 quart container. I change every 3K miles. The diff and transmission get it once a year.
