Oil Change Advice

Oil Change Advice
Hello,
Newbie here.
Needed a serious advice.
I recently picked up 08 with 1,100 miles.
Before taking off, the dealer gave me oil change with synthetic 10w30. (At least what the sales rep told me)
Since then, I've put on about 700 miles driving it back home and around the corner a bit.
While seeking advices in this forum.
A member advised me not to change to synthetic til 7,500 miles or so to break in the engine.
What should I do now?
Go to Honda dealer and replace with conventional oil or keep it as is?
What kind of mechanical consequences am I expected to face due to this?
Also, does this also apply to rear diff fluid I planned to change with synthetic soon?
Please help!

Don't worry they didn't use a real group 4 or 5 synthetic oil, at best they probably used a semi-synthetic or group 3 oil. Just make sure it was a 30 weight oil and you should be fine. That car was surely due for an oil change, as long as it looks clean on the dipstick run it for 3k-5k miles and then change to whatever oil you want.
The diff can be changed at any time, go with a good quality 75w-110 like Amsoil, or SAE110 like LE1605 fluid if you can find it.

If you really wanted to, and the parts or service department wanted to be nice, you could give them your VIN and they can pull up the work order, which will have all the parts they used, on the ticket. Find the part number or part description on the work order and ask the parts department exactly what kind of oil it was they used.
It's a five minute process.

Honda and Mercedes use a similar break in oil with Moly. You can find it. Get the dealer who did the early change to get some for you so YOU can do the change.
