Doh...are you new to the forum? If so, welcome and please use the search button or look up at the sticky's prior to posting anything. It will go along way. There's a ton of great information available that covers nearly all topics you can think of.

Back to the main point - how many miles on your S? If low mileage, I would go with a good synthetic 10W30. Most on here like Mobil 1 and Amsoil - get the Honda OEM filter and 6 quarts of your choice of oil and go for it. With synthetics, you can increase your OCI to around 6-7K versus the traditional 5k on dino.

If you have close to 60k or over in miles, I would go with a high mileage oil, preferably Valvoline MaxLife. I have started using that on my S, with 58k miles on it (the synthetic blend that is, but full synthetic is good too!). Alot of good reviews on it and was even blessed by the oil master on here Road Rage (from a few years back, don't believe he is on the forum anymore).

Have fun with the S - take care of her like she's an angel, but ride her like hell!

I'm not sure why a lot of people are suggesting 10w-30 oil, as It is good practice to run a thinner 0w or 5w weight oil to prevent wear at cold startups. The wear differences between a 0w and 10w oil may be small, some might say insignificant. I am merely pointing out that there is an advantage to thinner 'winter' weight oils.

You've mention Pennzoil Platinum, which is an excellent oil with a better than average additive package of other products on the shelf. UOAs have proven this time and again. A 5w-30 Pennzoil Platinum would be a better option if you are hell bent on PP.

As most people know, most 'synthetics' on the shelves at WalMart, AZ, etc. are not infact synthetics. However, there are a few true synthetics out there that I think suit the S2000 shear machine nicely. Those oils are Mobil 1 0w-40 and, a favorite of mine, German Castrol 0w-30. Both oils exhibit excellent high temp high shear characteristics and meet the tough ACEA A3/B3 requirement as well as BMW's LL-01 requirements.

We suggest 10W-30 because that's what Honda recommends in the manual. If 0W or 5W works for you, then that's a plus.

10w-30 is what you want, any synthetic will do. Redline is what I use, I think it is by far the best synthetic oil. Use the search function and you will find more about what oils to use than you can handle.
