Default Oil catch can

So what does an oil catch can do? Do cars typically come with one, and if not, why would someone add one to their vehicle?

Catch can catches oil.
cars don't come with one typically (if they do, it's a mean joke they played on me). someone would want one to prohibit blow by, dirt etc. in engine, or decorate their engine bay.
Check ebay or on here if you want one.

OK...The purpose of a catch can is to stop oil from entering the Engine, The factory crankcase ventalation system relieves pressure from the crankcase via a PCV Valve or smog pump. The s2k uses the PCV setup ( Located right on the valve cover) In forced induction and high rpm driving lots of oil is pumped to the top of the engine( forced induction cars have more blowby which increases crankcase pressure ) but in both examplesOil finds its way through the PCV system and enters the intake and inturn is burned. This will not only create smoke out of the exhaust but it has a negitive effect on engine performance.

The Catch can installs inline between the Crank vent and the Intake Manifold.

Hope this makes things clear
