Oil Cap Self-Destruction! Has anyone seen this?

Well, it didn't completely break off, but the threads became damaged in a manner similar to that reported by cdelena.

HOLY CRAP! This has nothing to do with that recessed plastic ring I spoke of earlier. That's just a crappy cap, plain and simple.

yea that was one of the first things i replaced .when i had a miata someone that board had the same situation happen to them .so no more plastic oils caps.
