This IS an old post... right?

Was it just a hit-and-run?
A drive-by?
A splash-'n-dash?
A mistake?

No, not a mistake. But most certainly a drive-by, hit and run. I post very cautiously now and very sparingly. You might say the gain on the old "Punk-O-Meter" is cranked to max.

Well.. going by your post about the oil cap and that you've recently checked - and maybe topped it off? - the oil on your S2000, noticing how hard it was to undo means you still have one.

The same one I assume.

So Welcome Back-ish

And YES, what the scientific reason for this self tightning oil cap is I don't know but it happens to me too.
It must be the engine rpm.

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but there is a very easy way to open/tighten the oil cap.

You need:
A ruler or yard stick
A rubber Mallet
One Honda S2000

Just line up the ruler end to one of the plastic ridges, and gently hit the end of the ruler with the mallet. it should easily move a tad bit. Once loose, unscrew by hand. Make sure you put as much of the ruler on that one edge (flat side) so you dissipate the force evenly and you don't make marks on your oil cap. Tightening the oil cap is the same process. I got tired of some random rattle and oil on my valve cover near the cap (might have been just me filling putting oil in like Michael J. Fox). Saves me from putting on gloves.
