Default Oil cap is hard to open

My oil cap is hard to open. I have to use some sort of tool to unscrew it when I do oil changes or when I need to top it off. I thought I saw a thread about this before, but I can't find it. I thought it was PCV-related.. or do I just need to start working out?

I have a MY00 with an AP2 valve cover & AP2 PCV.

Start working out . But in all seriousness are you trying to open it when the engine is hot or cold? I've noticed if the engine is warm its harder to unscrew the cap. Probably from the heat making the plastic expand.

Even hand tight, they all just get tight. Two hands will remove it.

Better tight then loose

I find aftermarket metal caps to be the worst, I've had to use a block of wood and a mallet to break them loose in the past, I've since gone back to the oem cap which is far better.

Check that the rubber gasket is still in place between the cap and the rocker cover - it's a PIG to remove if that isn't there.

I just bought the rubber gasket that is under the OEM cap. The old one was flush with the bottom of the cap. You can get just the o-ring. I wish I had the # here
