Oil Burning
I know this topic has been discussed dozens of times, But My 2003 is starting to burn oil at a much faster rate than before. I used to put about a quart between oil changes, but since the car reached 55 K miles, oil consumption picked-up to the point, that I have to add a quart every 1,200 miles or so. I performed a compression test myself several times, and the numbers consistently are in the 230's range for all cylinders. Also to be sure, I had a leak down test done, and it read 5% #1,3,4, And 7% #4. It could be lower, but the mechanic told me that these numbers were within specs.
Sure I V-tec a lot, but no more than what I used to. Also I run 5W 30 oil; That's what dealers put here in Socal I suppose.
So, what gives? Is there anything else I should look into? Yes I know some S2000 tend to burn oil like this, but this suddenly, Should I worry? Did you guys share similar experiences, and if yes, what have you done about it.
Thanks for your imput

What type of oil?
have you changed your oil type recently?
Have you Vtec more so lately?

Also, I'd be interested in krank vents, but I have a hard time believing that they'd make such a difference.

Change your oil to 10w30. Thats the recommended oil according to the owner's manual. Although the other weight oils are okay, why go against whats written on your oil cap?

From my own experience on the track, I was burning a quart for a full day of vtecing ~130 miles, after krank vents, zero oil consumption. Definite vacuum in the head too.

10w30 won't help you here, I really wonder why people make such silly recommendations without fully understanding the situation or characteristics of a lubricant.
10w30 and 5w30 are the same at operating temperature. Since you can only VTEC when the car is fully up to temperature running a thicker oil when cold won't help a damn thing. Unless you tend to burn all your oil when the car is first started in the morning running 10w30 will only serve to lessen the flow of good oil on cold starts.
