Oil Analysis for Motul 8100 xcess-thoughts?
#11
I did go pretty low at one point before I figured out that the engine consumed oil, but it was MAYBE a quart low. That is about all I can think of. I did add a injector cleaner that time around and changed the plugs using anti-seize on the threads, but I don't think either have lead in them. There were a couple autox events, but no track days on that oil.

I came across a UOA for Motul 300v (on a BMW), it's the one with all of the moly anti-wear additive.

Did you have a knock or anything prior? I got a good deal on this thing because of the miles and decided it was the perfect car to enjoy how an s2k should be enjoyed. Obviously if the lead and faint rattle I seem to notice are early warnings and I could catch it early that would be better. At this point though, I think I will keep beating on it, the car makes good power and runs pretty good. Besides it is only an engine right

Good luck going forward, keep an eye on it with some more UOA's and see how it goes.
