oil analysis @ 66229 miles
I've been using Chevron 10W-30 bought in bulk from Costco and HAMP Synergy filters for 6+ years since I bought my car brand new.
I get my oil analyzed every other oil change and still have yet to see any reason to move to synthetic.
btw, my S is now my daily driver with a lot of stop-n-go city traffic, and by all measures it's still going strong. I accidentally pushed the oil change interval a bit further than I intended but it appears to have made little difference.
FYI
if anyone is curious here are links to the two previous oil analysis threads:
51945 miles
41062 miles
/aside-- any group buys or good places to buy HAMP Synergy oil filters? I just ran out and given that they're working so well I'm reluctant to try any others!

Thanks for posting the results, good numbers !. Everyone has a different opinion, I like to see low Iron numbers and anything that is below double digits is great IMO.
If it was me I'd probably run the oil for about 4,500 miles, and like you stated there no reason to change oils with good results as these. I just wouldn't run as long of a drain as the last run. I like the moly levels of this oil, nice level of additive IMO. Thanks for sharing the info !

I agree with JFUSION...maybe a 5K OCI is optimum. I say this because TBN only gives you one indicator that the oil is still good for continued use. Kniowing what the TAN, Oxidation, Nitration and a more accurate method of measuring fuel dilution would be more definitive. I like and use Blackstone on ocassion because it seems to be a good value, but not if I were considering extending the OCI's out more than 7500 miles.
If you are looking for an economical way to get more information about the used oil, Polaris Labs gives quite a bit more data. I have never used them, but they are certified and reputable.
If you want more data and a professional interpretation, then I recommend you use Dyson Analysis. The lab is state of the art certified and Terry Dyson (tribologist) is very helpful and knowledgeable. I've been using him more and more recently on my vehicles.

I run AMSOIL 10w30 in my car. I noticed that my car stopped consuming oil when I switched to AMSOIL from Mobil 1. However, at the 3k mile mark I begin consuming small amounts of AMSOIL. Thats when I change it.

Per 1000 mile this last OCI showed the lowest wear metals ppm.
The added 3 quarts would replenish the TBN during the OCI.
IMO there is no reason to change anything.
As fas ar UOA's go.. that is.
That said: this is as good as UOA's come I guess, 1 oil, one engine, one owner, 6 years and counting.
Btw...

Does this mean this last UOA is the same oil as 6 year ago?
How much is "in bulk"?
Just asking.
Because, oil company's change formulations, and to get the same oil (as in: the same blend) for 6 years is not common IMO.
