oil

Bearing damage can often rear it's ugly head later down the road when you least expect it.
Keeping the motor out of VTEC and avoiding hard cornering could be the difference between a dead motor and one that survives in those situations.
Time will tell.

04 AP2 with PTE 6262 making 480 whp EMS series 2. Before I left for my trip the oil levels were perfect. After driving 60 miles I checked again and oil didn't even show on the dipstick! Proceeded to add oil and I have to add 4.5 quarts to get to the fill mark! I decided to check oil after 60 miles because vtec would not engage, and that was why. My downpipe had dropped slightly and found sitting on oil filter, which cracked filter and where leak was found. There were no odd sounds so I was really hoping for the best even though it seemed like I most likely destroyed something.

1/2 quart isn't enough to get oil up to the oil intake screen inside the oil pan, that thing must have been sucking air for a bit of time.
