A boost controller works the same on every turbo'd car out there, they simply raise boost above what your wastegate spring could do on its own. Whether its manual or electronic, they do the same job for the most part, but they are only dangerous if you do not tune for the higher boost levels. More boost without fuel is a pretty big mistake.
Of course it's the same on every car, but when you own a car like an STi that's at 14.5psi stock, raising boost can be a huge problem. That's all I was saying.

That's true for me, too, for major things, at least.

But I'm a sucker for little things, those creature comfort gadgets that go in the cockpit to "help" you with one thing or another. Maybe these don't really count as "modifications", so I won't list my follies here, but I will suggest applying the same level (or at least SOME level) of research to the little things as well as to FI and exhausts and body kits -- and other biggies.

That way, you'll wind up wasting less money and you'll help keep the local landfill from overflowing. I speak from experience here HPH
Researching something before buying it allows more time for anticipation, and anticipation is a big part of the fun of getting something new. Whether it's an investment or a gadget, I enjoy digging out the information needed to make an informed choice. I'm probably way too anal about it, but it's almost always fun to try to figure out the best choice among many.

i regret buying a single exhaust , aftermarket ecu , header and intake. Because when i think about the money i spent it feels stupid.

I wish i bought sc or turbo .

I bought a J's Engine damper. Then had to re-engineer it to fit the car so I didn't have to bend my AC lines. In the end I can't tell if it is installed or not. $300 to make my car heavier.

The fuse box mounting tab is now gone, so the ETD is staying.

Vortech S/C - what a waste of huge sums of money. Went through 3-4 black boxes, lots of frustration/extra cost/downtime, got to deal w/ worst customer service ever @ Vortech.

They suck, I'd never buy anything from them again!!! Much happier back to N/A now...my car may be slower, but at least it always runs like it should.

MZM Performance, which is an FI specialist in the area...they know what they're doing. The BB's wouldn't be bad at first, they'd go bad down the road. Car wouldn't break down, it would just have a lot of drivability issues (lurching) at parking lot speeds.
