In general a torque damper is for torque forces associated with shock loading rather than the torque being produced directly by the engine, so engine torque really doesn't have anything to do with whether or not they serve a useful function on any given automobile. A damper can make any car settle quicker after an abrupt shift or throttle change, and since the S2000 prefers smooth inputs the benefits of a damper on an otherwise stock car are questionable. I suspect that some drivers might see a benefit, but smooth drivers won't.

An ETD works/helps on the track or if you are an aggressive street driver, you will feel a difference. The S2000 motor mounts are some of the best in the world, they do not allow very much engine movement. They do how ever leave enough to cushion the ride for better comfort and to keep rattles to a street driving minimum.
To me it is not worth braking off part of your $35,000 car (fuse box tab) to put in a mod that only really helps in a race type or track situation.
I have had an ETD in my car for about a year now doing product testing on a mount I designed to allow the mod to be used in our cars with out having to destroy a part of the car in the process.

I made the mount for personal reasons not to get rich!! I made a short throw shifter for my S2000. And like the Richard Paul short throw shifter it will make a bit of noise or chatter in high RPM shifts.

The ETD has helped greatly (as I thought it would) in elevating the chatter the shifter was making

I am not going to promote a mod like the ETD here as some snake oil salesman to hock my mount. The mod at best is a Bling mod for the average S2000 owner. If you are into Bling then get one.

If you have a Short Shifter that chatters then get one , it will help.

If you track the car or race then get one it helps a little. If your are a true racer then you know every little bit helps to win or do well on the track.

If you use the car to go back and forth to work, this mod is not for you, sorry

My 2 cents

More likely to eleminate inside rear wheel lifting during cornering (due to tires that generate a lot more grip than the OEM tires).

Same boat here. Swift Sway bars front and rear. 050 Potenzas 225 style on the rear. First left hand turn on way to work in morning after install with cup of coffee in hand put me in the median head first. Felt like a dumbass in front of an entire intersection of people. Knocked my alignment all to hell. Probably coulda saved it but I didn't want to spill my coffee! Stock bar is back on the rear. Good bar (swift), wrong application (read: my car).

I guess to each his own.

Second Great thread idea, let me think what i've done and regret it now..
Getting the GReddy ems. Should've just brought the aem ems from the get go.
Which i did and just sold the GReddy ems for 100 bucks. Lost 200 dollars on it.

Marcus
More like $5-6k!

I'm more upset that I'm getting rid of the mods/car though. I loved my Amuse and J's shit
