Does anyone have instructions on how to change the axles on a 89' to 93' integ hatchback? Or anywhere on the net where I can find the instructions or diagrams?
Its the front axle.

Let me see...
1. remove wheels
2. remove big axle nut
3. remove shock fork
4. remove (2) bolts connecting front strut arm to lower control arm
5. remove inner lower control arm bolt
6. swing lower control arm out while holding the axle in, this should separate the axle from the lca, give it a tap on the end if stuck.
7. using a big blade screwdriver, carefully stick it up between the inner cv joint cup and the transmission housing (must be metal to metal contact, no ripping of rubber is required) and twist until you see the axle pop out of the transmission.
8. drink beer, do other side.

You may need more beer than I do, just based on how much time it will probably take you. 
It is really pretty easy though, you need to have the car on jackstands, and basic tools. Is your Dad a TV repairman with and Awesome set of tools? That helps.
Are you just trying to replace them with new ones? Or do you plan on trying to rebuild them?

No just replacing them, they broke today. Just taking off the old and putting on the new should be ok right? As long as I have sufficient tools?

Yes, shouldn't be too hard. One thing about this method, I made it the easy way with no pullers required, they can be a bitch to get to work, you may need to get it aligned afterwards. This is because of the separation of the strut arm and lower control arm. I would just see how it drives afterwards and go with it, should be fine.
