Just noticed this earlier today. I'm sure it's been like this for a while, but is still very disappointing. Seems like the skin of the headliner has pulled away from the headliner. It seems very tight, and won't easily go back to it's original shape. Has anyone ever come across something like this before? The top was installed brand new in September of 2010 by Jeff @ Hardtopguy. I'm still waiting to hear back from him about this issue. And I actually talked to a dealership today, that told me parts like this are only covered for the first year or 12,000 miles. But their shop supervisor is going to take a look at it and see if Honda will do a good will on it.
If Honda or HTG doesn't cover this, I guess I'll have to remove the latch, heat the skin, and try to get some adhesive behind it? Any thoughts? I'm just trying to figure out how this happened. Possibly bad adhesive from the factory?

you should be able to fix it as you described using some weatherstripping adhesive or a similar product.

If Honda is going to cover this, I'm all for a new headliner, considering they're about $300 new. Did some searching too, and it seems pretty straight forward to remove the headliner.

The hardtop on my CR had bad adhesive and was failing when I bought it new. The dealership replaced it under warranty, of course. They thought it was just bad or not enough adhesive at the factory. The replacement liner has been perfect.

Definitely new is the way to go if Honda covers it. Repairing it if they don't do it under warranty should work as long as it doesn't expand to other areas, I think the area of repair would be okay but if the failure expands in size then it will be one big headache.

Interesting. How long have you had the top? I'm surprised I'm already seeing something like this on such a new top. This is something you usually see on 20+ year old cars.![thumbsdown.gif](https://www.s2ki.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsdown.gif)

bought the car used with the top. I called couple dealers, basically said its out of warranty. Car is 07. Might try and just show up to a dealer and complain a little. Any luck with yours?
