They're aluminum right? Has anyone ever stripped the paint and polished the aluminum?

Depends on the finish, I reckon it wouldn't reflect or blind anyone more than a freshly waxed and painted car.

Miatas do it. I guess it works better on a silver car.

Painting the hood flat black would work better for me. Cuts reflections to a minimum.
