OEM Honda MTF?
i was reading the threads about what gear oil to use and many people have suggested to stick with the oem gear oil but they said it must be the one with the green label on it.
im from canada and went to my local dealership and asked for 2 bottles of the gear oil, the bottle is black and the lable is mainly red not green. i asked them about it they looked at me like i was crazy. now i dunno if this is just something avaible in the US ?
by chance does anyone have a bottle lying around to take a pic of that way i can see exactly what i'm looking for? have any other canadians out there actually purchased the green label bottle from their local dealership?
thanks for any help guys, i need to change my fluid soon and would like to put the best stuff in there..

Don't confuse gear oil with transmission fluid.
For transmission, use Honda MTF (Manual Transmission Fluid...not gear oil). The newer one with the green label. You'll need two bottles. Do not use this fluid for your differential.
For Differential, there isn't a OEM gear oil that is readily available through a dealership. Most people use Mobil 1 75w90 gear oil, LE607 90 weight oil or any multi-weight gear oil that is GL5 rated. You'll need 1 bottle. Whatever you do, do not put the OEM dual pump VTM gear oil that is for the CRV. That will destroy your diff. And don't use gear oil for your transmission.

I'm not certain on this, but the red label might be the old Honda MTF.
The newer Honda MTF comes with a green label.
Perhaps your dealership has an overstock of old fluid? I would try another dealership.
The new fluid should look like this:

the mtf in Canada has a different colour bottle cap. Both bottle and cap is black and it should say Advanced protection at the bottom of the label. This is the same as the one in the US. 15400pcx004 i think this is the part number.

FYI guys,
there are Honda dealerships that use motor oil in select Honda cars (including S2000s) for transmission flush
I've seen a Honda master tech perform a tranny flush (more like...drain and fill) on a S2000 brought in for a 30,000 mile service. They do not use Honda MTF. Supposedly, motor oil is better from what they've told me.
