Odds of warranty work on 2000?

2nd gear grinds for all s2000s. Some worse than others and some have had luck by changing to different gear oils. Mine grinds when it's cold but usually goes away once warm. Check your clutch fluid and make sure it's full.

Replace trans fluid.
Replace clutch fluid.
Set clutch rod adjustment to zero freeplay, search and understand this before you start.
When shifting, do not move the shifter out of first gear until the clutch pedal is to the floor.
You have a very good chance of curing the grind completely.

I have a MY2000 car and frankly the transmission has always been pretty crappy and Honda did the TSB and another repair for slipping out of gear.
The transmission finally failed and I replaced it with a transmission from a salvage yard (pulled from a 2002) and the transformation is amazing. This replacement is better than my original transmission was from the day I drove it off the lot... the replacement shifts into every gear without grind and feels solid. My problem was definitely not the clutch or fluid, it was simply a bad unit and poor Honda service.
I lived with marginal shifting for 14 years and the best thing that happened was the failure forcing me the get a newer unit.
