Default Odd sound-like marbles rumbling around in a jar

the car is making the noise between 3500-5000rpm on every gear, but is strongest in 2nd and 3rd. Sounds like marbles rumbling inside a can. The sound starts slow but speeds up to almost a rattling at 5k. Does any 00 owner know what's going on? Thanks

Steven

Is it only while you are in gear or does it also do it while just revving the engine?

check to see if your muffler is in decent condition, you could have blown the baffle out of the muffler itself. But with cars this new, that usually doesnt happen, does it sound like it's in the engine?

I think your car could be detonating. Is the sound coming from the motor or exhaust?

A few days before my diff blew my friend told me it sounded like someone put marbles in my muffler. Drain your diff and check for metal shavings. Let us know if you find your problem.

sounds like it's comming from either the engine or right under the gearbox somewhere. doesn't sound like the muffler. plus it's only happening when i'm in gear... so.....
