odd question... same exhausts, both ap2s, different sounds?
Really hard to explain, but in a nutshell, Ive been through about 4-5 exhausts now, have had a 2004 s2000 prior to my 2005. ANd I noticed all the exhausts that I put on the 2005, it sounds way too deep. Im talking comparing the same exact exhausts, same test pipe, OEM header etc. Its honestly weird and I really don't like it, I kind of like the higher pitched sounds my 2004 ap2 made, and all other s2000s... Is there anything that would cause this sound difference?
I know this is a little far fetched, but its got me stumped, and for some reason not getting the exhaust sound that I want, is bothering me.

Valve adjustment maybe? Other cars maybe have a different intake? Exhausts also sound different over time so maybe you are hearing the difference between a broken in and brand new exhaust? Also are you talking about the sound inside or outside the car? Big difference even with the top down.

Andrey recently did a valve adjustment about a month ago, and yeah, ive gotten new, and used (broken in) exhausts. and They sound completely different. THe sound outside of the car, ive had people drive it, it just seems muffled.. or extremely deep with no tone. Just bassy, which im not really fond of.
as far as intake, I have a k&n fipk, but I know the sound of intake is more of an engine noise vs exhaust note.
Im sorry this sounds stupid guys, but it has got me bothered, and curious. haha. that's why ive been through so many exhausts with this car.

That's exactly the sound im after. and I know videos can somewhat change the sound, but its a fairly good quality video.
I have the same exact exhaust, same test pipe. sounds NOTHING like it.

I would think it has to be the intake.. same motor, same exhaust, same TP. Intake is all that's left, assuming they're both stock engines and in mechanically sound condition

A cai, and what kind of cai you have can make very noticeable differences in the exhaust note.
I went from a cheap eBay cai to an aem v2 and noticed a huge difference. I actually preferred the note from the cheap cai.

That's wierd, I just feel it's highly unlikely. Because I think only the note of engine noise will change under full throttle with an aftermarket intake. And is literally deep/throaty engine noise, but not the noise coming out exhaust.
