Thumbs up odd buzzing noise when letting off gas

i just got a 00 s2k with 67k miles and i noticed that when cruising around and then letting off the gas i hear a weird buzzing sound from in/under the transmission. its kinda loud but it doesnt really sound like grinding.

i called the dealer and they said it might be the exhaust manifold cover buzzing/vibrating.

does any other 00 ppl have these problems? thanks

It is likely the clutch.. a common problem with no 100% fix. The transmission gear lash vibrates the springs in the fricton disk. The new disks are somewhat better. There was a TSB that should cover your car that will install the newer part. Try a few searchs.

there is also another sound in all the gears, strongest in 2nd & 3rd at 3500rpm till 5k.

it sorta sounds like marbles rolling around in a can

I think you've lost your marbles!

The first problem sounds exactly like the clutch buzz and hopefully you can get it repaired under the TSB. Not sure how the age of the car/warranty affects this, but a new clutch, buzzing or not, would be nice.

As for the other problem, get it checked out, and not by the monkeys at Honda who have access to TSBs and have probably fixed half a dozen but still can't diagnose the problem correctly.

yeah.. found the TSB for the first problem...

as for the second problem, I'm taking it to a shop specializing in Hondas (thought that might be better than Joe's Repair - Import or Domestic =P)

Anyone else have any idea why my car sounds like marbles in a jar between 3500-5000rpm on any gear?

Been seeing a lot of new 00-01 owners having this problem. I wonder how many of these previous owners just thought that the buzzing was normal or something.
