CEL came on today. ODB trouble code read 'P 1457(unable to pull vacuum in tank)' Not sure if my gas cap was loose. Any one know this code?

It's not a gas cap, you'd have a different DTC.

Evaporative emmisions troubleshooting is pretty involved, I'd suggest a trip to the dealer to have it looked at.

It can wait. It's not an engine performance issue, and the problem won't get any worse.

That code comes up as "Manufacturer Contrl Auxiliary Emmissions Controls" in my code software. **EDITED** I think I was wrong. Thanks SlowS2k.

Do you think the return tube could come lose from the purge tank?

P1457= Evaporative emmisions leak canister side of system. The Evap system is connected to the fuel tank. It's purpose is to recover, store and purge fuel vapor.

i had that code (or p1456) can't remember which. i took out my driver seat and when I was putting it back in, i guess i banged it on the carpet somehow and one of the seat rails cut a wire under the carpet throwing that code because it powered a valve. a quick continuity test showed my problem, pealed back the carpet and fixed the cut wire.
