Default ODBII code p1399. Anyone know what it means?

The code is not in my scanner book or anywhere else I have looked. I am also getting multiple misfires.

Thanks

P1399 is for "Wait To Start Lamp Circuit" (Chrysler, Jeep)

How does this apply to Honda ???

Here for future reference : (All codes)

P1399 for a Chrysler is a "hard" or permanent DTC. It is not a permanent DTC to Honda. Although they share the same # they are not the same DTC. Most misfire monitors are 2 trip monitors or tests. So when the PCM detects a misfire through crankshaft fluctuation, a temporary DTC is stored, for #4 P1399. If on another trip the PCM detects another misfire The MIL is illuminated and the permanent or "hard " DTC P0304 is stored. If the engine is misfiring bad enough to damage the Catalytic converter the MIL will flash and DTC's will be stored for the Misfiring Cyl's.

Really busy now but just wanted to indicate:

First Digit "P"=Powertrain

Second Digit "1"= Indicates this is a manufactureres code as opposed to an SAE code (i.e. "0")

Third Digit "3"= Indicates problem occured in the ignition system

Fourth & Fifth Digits will indicate the OBD-I Code 99=Misfire

There is no way to know if it is the #4 cylinder. You have an intermitant misfire.....that is all. OBD-II would then hard set which cylinder which hasn't occurred yet.

Logic would say if you had you plugs changed retorque them. If not the check the 4 which has historically been loose. There is a recent servie bulletin in effect due to loose plugs from the factory. Check the FAQ section on the board.

I misread service manual page 11-6. I was scanning the page for p1399 and stopped looking at the first number I saw. p1399 is the temporary for any random or single cylinder misfire.

My car has been to the dealership twice for this in the last four months (three of those months it was stored for the winter). Both times they changed the plugs. Its going back in tonight. If they change the plugs again I will have to assume that they just aren't going to be able to figure it out.

Have them change the coil packs on top of the plugs and possibly see if they will give you a valve adjustment.

ALL BETTER!!!! Trust me.
