Occasional coolant temp drop while driving?
Thanks for coming in the thread! I tried to search for a similar scenario on the forum but it does not seem to exist... I have an 02 and it's recently developed an annoying problem that when the car is fully warmed up during normal driving, the coolant temp gauge sometimes drops to 2 bars then comes back to 3 after a few seconds or minutes. It may happen a couple times a week and the car feels perfectly fine when doing it. The coolant itself should not be the cause as it was changed less than 30k miles ago with oem honda blue stuff, and I cannot identify any leaking from the reservoir coolant level. So I'm wondering maybe it's the coolant temp sensor retiring? Any inputs would be highly appreciated

This used to happen on my legend. The thermostat would stick open and the temp gauge would drop a couple marks for the first couple minutes of highway driving, then correct itself. Better to stick open then closed.

Thanks for the info! Did it get any worse or it held up for quite a long time?
