Default OBDII code reader

Went through soooo many threads and still couldn't find an answer. Where can I plug the code reader? In my previous cars it was always under the dash, driver side. Got under there last night and couldn't find the plug.

I'm sure once someone tells me where it is I'll be like

Nevermind!

Two hours searching and no dice, then 5 minutes after starting this thread I find the answer:

"you literally just plug it into the port in the passenger side footwell and hit the "read" button and it spits out a code for you." Thanks Planets.

Like I said...

My OBDII port is on the drivers side near where the back of the radio is.

AP2 that's where mine is too ...drivers side above the right knee. Can someone with AP1 confirm same location or is it on passenger side above left knee (I recall hearing that)?

Well, just found mine today and it is on the passenger side. Same locations as described above (under dash, close to left knee). Mine is an '01, so I guess '00-01 = passenger side, '02-newer = driver side

I know you already found the answer, but I like to whore this smiley:

Unfortunately, the FAQ has OBD spelled as ODB in the link, so a text search won't find it.
Link.
