OBD2
Hi Everyone
has anyone used one of these before?
[attachment=29911:$T2eC16J,!yEE9s5jDYT9BQJn)k4STw~~ 60_12.JPG]
i can get it working with my laptop but not with my iphone 5. finds it but cant connect to it properly.
has anyone got this set up and using a good app? i can see there are a few apps, mainly around the £30 mark, so just want to confirm it will work before i pay out
Also, if i was to stick with the laptop, whats the best software to use (free?)
Thanks Guys

Check my last post on this thread. I was just talking about this yesterday in the mod section.
It works flawlessly with an HTC Evo 4g & Torque App.
With Android you can you load your apps onto your pc or phone. I don't know about iProducts. If your laptop is windows and you have a google/gmail account, you can download the app from the android store and install it on your laptop.
These OBDII sensors use blue-tooth (some expensive ones use wifi) to connect. If your laptop has blue-tooth, it should work fine. Once you start the app you have to identify or link the sensor with the software. To do this go to settings and choose your adapter. There are many walk-throughs and guides on the Torque App Wiki to assist with this.
Torque App w/ OBDII sensor

You would do the same thing for WIFI. Give it an IP, and connect to it via the App.
Good luck,
Matt

Just bought one two weeks ago. This is for Android, but should work for iphone as well - taking into consideration you have bluetooth and it's working
Plug in the device in the OBD2 socket, when powered it should have a red led on.
Install torque on your phone - there is a free, light version and a full version.
Start your engine
Turn on Bluetooth, check the Bluetooth settings, you need to pair the phone with the OBD2 adapter. The code for my adapter was 6789.
Start Torque and enter settings, and on the Choose Bluetooth device choose the OBD2 adapter. Mine is called CHX.
The lights on the adapter will flash and stuff.
I have the full version of Torque, it's a nice toy to play with - but on AP1 at least, it doesn't tell you the fuel pressure, oil pressure, the AFR etc.
It does tell you the coolant temperature, intake temperature, GPS speed + ECU speed and differences between the both, O2 voltages + fuel trim per o2 sensor (whatever that is), throttle position, generated G forces, accurate revs. 0-60 times and such.
The most useful part is the error codes scanning / clearing feature, you can find a code that is waiting to show before the check engine light comes on.

Would you report back once you find one that works well with your iPhone? I'd be curious and it may help others that are experiencing the same hurdles you are.
