Thumbs up O2 sensor in header

I am installing a jet hot treated Rick's header is the near future I was wondering about what the sensor in the header is reading? Temp? O2 flow similar to the CAT O2 sensor?

The reason I am asking is because after observing the 2 antifouler testpipe offset of the O2 sensor fix that takes the tip of the sensor out of the exhaust flow by about an inch, would a similar one antifouler offset of the header sensor do anything to the MAP.

One of the compelling reasons I am contemplating this is that taking the tip of the sensor out of the flow creates low turbulence in the pipe stream making faster flow.

Please chime in with analysis

The primary 02 sensor sends a varaible voltage signal based on oxygen content in the exhaust stream. The primary 02 sensor is used most of the time. The only time it's signal is not used is on cold start, and WOT.(open loop operation) It only takes a few seconds for the engine to warm up enough to enter closed loop. 99% of the driving you do will be in closed loop.

The sensor needs to be in the pipe for proper operation. spacing it away from the exhaust stream will result in a CEL/ and posible driveability problems.
