Notchy/sticking clutch pedal...
As I push in on the clutch pedal, it feels like drawing a compound bow. As it's going down the force it takes to push the pedal increases drastically, then about 3/4 the way down it falls right to the floor. There is about 2 inches of play in the pedal once it is to the floor, hardly any pressure at all. As I come back up with the pedal, the pressure "slingshots" the pedal back up and the clutch engages. It is not a nice smooth press/depress event.
I have completly flushed and bled the system several times along with replacing the clutch master and slave cylinders. I also checked the spring in the clutch pedal assembly.
Wierd part: When the car is cold, the force it takes to push the pedal is not nearly as bad as when the car is hot.... It ALMOST feels like it's supposed to as if it were the effortless stock feeling.
I had an OEM clutch kit installed by a reputible mechanic about 2 months ago and the car has been just fine up until now. About 4,000 Miles since install.
I am very mechanically inclined and usually figure these things out on my own but this one has me stumped . The only thing I can think of is that the THROWOUT BEARING sliding along the input shaft in the transmission is somehow binding up or catching the input shaft as the pressure plate puts force on it. I called the mechanic to ask if he lubricated the throwout bearing and he told me yes he applied anti-seize to the collar that the input shaft slides through.
The car shifts just fine.
Has anyone else had this problem before? I've never encountered it. Thank you in advance!

i test drove an S that had a sticky clutch pedal feel. took it to honda to do a buyer's inspection, and the mechanic said that it is the throwout bearing that needed attention. he also suggested a new clutch since that one was slipping a little bit. with your case though, it's a new clutch, so i don't know what's wrong. did your mechanic replace the throwout bearing?

Yes it was the entire OEM clutch kit. I'm going to try and take a peak behind the slave cylinder this weekend and see if I can see anything unusual going on in there.

hey i know exactly what your talking about, my clutch frequently felt knotchy and sloppy, however i always noticed that after i got on it a little bit maybe hit a little vtec and really went through the gears that that clutch felt like butter right after the fact and stayed like that ussually until i started babying the car again and shifting under 3K but i dunno maybe my cars just weird, but i figure it likes to be rev'd out more frequently then most cars. so i suggest tryin that and then maybe feeling for some change. If not sorry for wasting your time.

Well that was def. the problem. I put a mirror finish on both the slave cyl. rod and the clutch fork. It is back to a smooth press/depress. Thanks again for the link 22clbr!
